Special Notice:

The “Fire Officer” course series is now taught under the new curriculum from California State Fire Training.

Any of the Fire Officer courses (Fire Officer 2/3/4) MUST be taken IN ORDER.

Students taking the Fire Officer 3C course will use their task book from the previous Fire Officer 3A & 3B courses. Please remember to bring your task book for the entire course.

The instructor will provide expectations outlining the requirements for completion of all task book activities and any associated due dates.

Course Description:

The Fire Officer 3C course provides the skills and knowledge needed for a Fire Officer 4 to safely, effectively, and competently command an expanding incident, including integrating fire service resources into a community emergency plan; developing or improving a plan to use mutual aid agreements; identifying assistive technology; initiating, assuming, or transferring command; developing and maintaining situational awareness; implementing a risk management process; managing an integrated communication network; establishing effective command and control communications; developing an effective incident organization; developing and using an incident action plan; deploying and managing resources; revising the incident action plan; transitioning, transferring, or terminating command; and developing post-incident analysis and maintaining incident records. This course also fulfills the coursework requirements for Extended Attack Incident Task Commander (NWCG S300).

Certification:

Students who complete the course will receive a certificate from State Fire Training.

Designed For:

Personnel preparing to pursue Fire Officer 3 certification or anyone who performs the duties of a Fire Officer 3 within their agency.

Prerequisites:

ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents (FEMA)
Meet one of the following requirements:
• Meet the education requirements of an OSFM Company Officer or
Fire Officer 2
• Currently in the position of Chief Fire Officer (acting does not apply)

Standard:

Complete all required activities and formative tests.
Complete all summative tests with a minimum score of 80%.

Course Hours:

54 Total Hours

  • 23 hours of in-class lecture
  • 22 hours of in-class application and testing
  • 9 hours of task book application – Outside of Class

The instructor will provide expectations outlining the requirements for completion of all task book activities and any associated due dates.

Course Details:

The class will begin at 0800. The dress is casual yet respectful, and uniforms are acceptable as well.

Like all Elite Command Training courses, please bring a laptop computer with a USB Type-A port to class each day. Your student materials will be on flash drives that you’ll receive on the first day.

REFUND POLICY

To cancel your registration and receive a refund you need to contact ECT 30-calendar days prior to the first day of the class. A $15 refund processing fee will be deducted from the total refund amount ​for each class canceled.

However, if you cancel your registration within 30-calendar days of the first day of class you can carryover your registration towards any class we offer now or in the future.

You will not lose your class registration. Just contact us to cancel and/or to apply your cancelled registration towards another ECT class.
