Designed For:
Personnel desiring to be qualified as ANY SINGLE resources boss or fire effect monitor.
The S-290 Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior Course is by far the most important class you can take. Understanding fire behavior is critical for all firefighters. You want to take this class from an instructor who is a Fire Behavior Analyst (FBAN 5) and has expert knowledge of fire behavior. You do not want to take this class from a community college instructor who lacks the same qualifications.
Course Details:
The class will begin at 0830. The dress is casual yet respectful, and uniforms are also acceptable.
Like all Elite Command Training courses, please bring a laptop computer with a USB Type-A port to class each day. Your student materials will be on flash drives that you’ll receive on the first day.
Course Description:
The S-290-Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior is a classroom-based skills course designed to prepare the prospective fireline supervisor to undertake safe and effective fire management operations. It is the second course in a series that collectively aims to develop knowledge and skill sets in fire behavior prediction. Fire environment differences will be discussed as needed; the instructor will stress local fire behavior conditions.
If you want to improve your fire behavior experience, knowledge, skill sets, and abilities to keep you out of trouble, then this class is a must-attend.
