Special Notice:

The “Fire Officer” series of courses is now taught under the new curriculum from California State Fire Training.

Any of the Fire Officer series courses (Fire Officer 2/3/4) MUST be taken IN ORDER.

Students taking the Fire Officer 2C course will use the task book from the previous Fire Officer courses. Please remember to bring your task book for the entire course.

The instructor will provide expectations outlining the requirements for completion of all task book activities and any associated due dates.

Course Description: 

The Fire Officer 2C course provides the skills and knowledge needed for a Fire Officer 2 to safely, effectively, and competently acquire foundational skills and carry out initial actions, initial incident action planning, incident operations, and post- incident activities at an initial Type 4 incident.

Certification:

Each student who completes the course will receive a certificate from State Fire Training

Designed For:

Personnel preparing to pursue Fire Officer 2 certification or anyone who performs the duties of a Fire Officer 2 within their agency.

Prerequisites:

Meet one of the following requirements:

  • OSFM Fire Fighter 2 certification (any version)
  • Currently in the position of Company Officer or Fire Officer 2 (acting does not apply)

Fire Officer 2A: Human Resource Management (SFT)

ICS-200.B: Incident Command System for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

S-290 Intermediate Fire Behavior (SFT-approved delivery model)

Standard:

Complete all required activities and formative tests.

Complete all summative tests with a minimum score of 80%.

Course Hours:

54 hours

  • 20 hours of in-class lecture
  • 24 hours of in-class application and Testing
  • 10 hours of task book application – Outside of Class

Course Details:

The class will begin at 0800. Dress is casual yet respectful, and uniforms are acceptable.

As with all Elite Command Training courses, please bring a laptop with a USB Type-A port to class each day. Your student materials will be on flash drives that you’ll receive on the first day.

REFUND POLICY

To cancel your registration and receive a refund you need to contact ECT 30-calendar days prior to the first day of the class. A $15 refund processing fee will be deducted from the total refund amount ​for each class canceled.

However, if you cancel your registration within 30-calendar days of the first day of class you can carryover your registration towards any class we offer now or in the future.

You will not lose your class registration. Just contact us to cancel and/or to apply your cancelled registration towards another ECT class.
