Fire Captain Rob Morales (ret) began his career working for two smaller fire departments in Southern California prior to joining the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 1999. He held the ranks of Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer & Fire Captain prior to retiring with over 30 years of professional firefighting experience. He was certified as a Paramedic for over 34 years. Rob spent over half of his career working in the Air & Wildland Section of Los Angeles County Fire Department. He worked as a Fire Crew Supervisor for both inmate and paid fire crews before being promoted to Fire Captain. After a short stent as an Engine Captain, he returned to the Camp Section as a Training Superintendent and finished his career as Superintendent 2, leading one of two Type 1 Hand Crews in the Los Angeles County Fire Department. During his time with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Rob worked on two USFS Type 1 IMT’s working in Logistics and through his work in the Camp Section, he was qualified as a DIVS, TFLD, TFWD, STCR, CRWB, ENGB, FIRB, CREP, ICT4 & FAL1. In 2011 Rob was awarded the Medal of Valor for his actions during the burn over of Mt. Gleason during the 2009 Station Fire.
