Course Description
This course teaches the student the management skills necessary to fill the position of Division/Group Supervisor within the framework of ICS & CICCS. You’ll lean the necessary leadership and management techniques to include: Operational responsibilities to include: Situation – Priorities – Objectives – Resources – Territory (S.P.O.R.T.), Communication, Administrative and Safety.
Please bring a laptop computer with USB port with you to class each day. Student materials will be on flash-drives.
Retired Battalion Chief Jeff Brand will be your instructor. Chief Brand is a qualified type I (IC, Ops, Safety, Division/Group Supervisor, Air Attack Officer). He was the lead investigator of the Esperanza Fire. If you haven’t attended a class with Chief Brand you don’t know what you’re missing!
Chief Brand’s classes are NOT “pay the fee and get a B”! If you just want a certificate then this class is NOT for you. However, if you are really looking forward to learn what you need to know that will keep you out of the incident minefields, then this class is for you!!
Attendees shall have there FEMA student ID number prior to the start of class!
How do I obtain my FEMA Student Identification (SID) number?
Step 1: To register, go to https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid
Step 2: Click on the “Need a FEMA SID” box on the right side of the screen.
Step 3: Follow the instructions and provide the necessary information to create your account.
Step 4: You will receive an email with your SID number. You should save this number in a secure location.
