Certification:
The California State Fire Training Certification and Certificate now takes a minimum of two months for students to receive.
Course Details:
The class will begin at 0830. The dress is casual yet respectful, and uniforms are also acceptable.
Like all Elite Command Training courses, please bring a laptop computer with a USB Type-A port to class each day. Your student materials will be on flash drives that you’ll receive on the first day.
Course Description:
This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary for the intermediate-level professional instructor to perform their duties safely, effectively, and competently. The curriculum is based on the 2019 edition of NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, and the 2019 edition of NFPA 1403, Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions. Upon completing this course, candidates for Instructor II certification will be able to develop lesson plans and evaluation instruments, teach and deliver instruction, and evaluate and coach other instructors. Instructor II will also be able to analyze resources and formulate a program budget.
