This classroom is located 1/4 mile South of the Orange County Line (San Clemente).  From San Clemente, Exit Basilone, go East over the freeway to the gate. The classroom is located at the community event center next to Sonic Burgers on Basilone Road, approximately 1000 feet east of the sentry gate off of I-5.

Please have students show their agency ID to the military police at the sentry.

Note: it is a requirement that all students attending wear a mask in class and we will be maintaining social distancing 6′ in the classroom.  We will also be disinfecting tables and chairs each day.

Course Description

This course contains the NEW curriculum regarding tactics and strategy in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) as it relates to the management of a strike team or task force and meets the S-330 training requirements of the California Incident Command Certification System (CICCS) for the position of Strike Team/Task Force Leader – All Risk!!

You’ll have the following case studies presented in class – Station Fire (Camp 16 burn-over), Freeway Fire (structure defense challenges), Esperanza (burn-over).  These presentations will be delivered by instructors who participated in the accident investigations or had command roles on these wildland fires.

You and your group of colleagues will participate in a simulated ST/TF Leader exercise in a residential community utilizing all of the new WUI terminologies, strategy, tactics, identifying TRA’s in providing structure defense size up’s as well as strike team engine placement for defensible structures.  

If you’re looking to improve your experience, knowledge, skill sets, and abilities then this class is a must-attend!   

Very Important: Please bring a lab-top or tablet with a USB port to class with you each day. The student material is on flash-drives, which you’ll receive on the first day of class.
