Steve Concialdi

Steve has been with Orange County Fire Department/Authority since 1989 and is a captain/paramedic on a paramedic engine company and serves as one of OCFA’s part-time PIOs. Steve was OCFA’s full-time PIO from 2013-2016 and is still a PIO on Orange County’s All Hazard Incident Management Team. He has been a member of CAPIO (California Association of Public Information Officials) and has attended their annual conference since 2007, including a guest speaker in 2016. He earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Cal State Fullerton and has taught a number of PIO classes over the years. He has been a PIO on thousands of calls including many major incidents in Orange County and served as one of the PIOs on the Thomas Fire, the largest wildfire in California’s history. He tries to instill a safety message in all his stories. Steve is the founder of Friends Against Drinking and Driving (FADD) and has been organizing Mock DUI Crashes at high schools since 1991. He won a Telly Award for a documentary on FADD in 2013. He is married, has three children and enjoys spending quality time with them.
