Jeff Brand


Jeff Brand is a 35 year veteran of the California Fire Service. He started in the Kentfield Fire District in Marin County as a volunteer and joined CAL FIRE (CDF) in 1980 in the Lake/Napa Unit. He worked for CAL FIRE in the North Coast, Riverside and Nevada/Yuba/Placer Unit where Jeff retired as a Field Battalion Chief. During his career with CAL FIRE he worked on both Municipal and Wildland assignments in Northern and Southern California. He was an Air Attack Officer, assigned to Incident Management teams in both Command and General Staff positions, Coordinator of Placer County Haz Mat Team, served on various committees and coordinated Wildland Extended Attack Command training for new Chief Officers at the Cal Fire Academy. Jeff has an extensive background in large incident command and teaches in that arena. Jeff was a member of CAL FIRE’s Wildland Urban Interface working group that helped restructure tactics as they are today. Jeff was the Chief Investigator of the Esperanza Firefighter Fatality. Jeff is a California State Fire and OHS instructor specializing in ICS, NIMS, and Command and Control.
