NEW State Fire Officer 3 Series Information:
The Fire Officer 3C Course is one of the “NEW” State Fire Training Fire Officer 3 series. While you will be in the classroom for four days, you will also have to complete activities related to the Task Book sign-off requirements. These activities are completed at your own pace over the week following the live instruction. You must complete all task book assignments by the due date of the course, which is January 25th -two weeks after the start of class. Course Description:
The Fire Officer 3C course provides the skills and knowledge needed for a Fire Officer 4 to safely, effectively, and competently command an expanding incident, including integrating fire service resources into a community emergency plan; developing or improving a plan to use mutual aid agreements; identifying assistive technology; initiating, assuming, or transferring command; developing and maintaining situational awareness; implementing a risk management process; managing an integrated communication network; establishing effective command and control communications; developing an effective incident organization; developing and using an incident action plan; deploying and managing resources; revising the incident action plan; transitioning, transferring, or terminating command; and developing post-incident analysis and maintaining incident records. This ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents (FEMA) course also fulfills the coursework requirements for the Extended Attack Incident Task Commander (NWCG S300).

Personnel preparing to pursue Fire Officer 3 certification or anyone who performs the duties of a Fire Officer 3 within their agency.
Course Details:
The class will begin at 0830. The dress is casual yet respectful, and uniforms are acceptable as well.
Like all Elite Command Training courses, please bring a laptop computer with a USB Type-A port to class each day. Your student materials will be on flash drives that you’ll receive on the first day.
Prerequisites:
Meet ONE of the following requirements

- Meet the education requirements of an OSFM Company Officer or Fire Officer 2
- Currently in the position of Chief Fire Officer (acting does not apply)
Certification:
California Fire Officer 3 Certificate
Standard:
Complete all activities and formative tests. Complete all summative tests with a minimum of 80% correct.
