Vince Pena

Biography

Assistant Chief Vince Pena is a 33 year veteran of the County of Los Angeles Fire Department. He has worked through the ranks of Firefighter/Paramedic, Firefighter Specialist, Camp Foreman, Fire Captain, and Department Training Captain. He has been a chief officer since 2000 holding the positions of Fire Battalion Chief, Camp Section Battalion Chief, and is currently the Assistant Chief of the Air & Wildland Division. Vince is a qualified Type II Operations Section Chief, Operations Branch Director, Division/Group Supervisor, Strike Team/Task Force Leader, and Crew Rep. He has extensive incident management experience on Type I & II incidents. Chief Pena is a California state certified fire instructor, he instructs numerous courses for the County of Los Angeles Fire Department as well as other agencies. He is on the Cal Fire Operations Section Chief instructor cadre and was a member of Cal Fire’s Wildland Urban Interface working group.
