NOTE: Eastern Plumas Fire Protection District will be hosting a Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator 1A class at our Main Station located at 141 Delleker Road in Portola. The class will be taught by Kenny Osburn.

The 40-hour class will be delivered over two weekends: March 7 & 8 as well as March 14 & 15, 2019.  From 0800 hours to 1800 hours.

Description:

This course provides information on fire apparatus preventive maintenance and driving/operating. Topics include routine tests, inspections, and servicing functions, operate, back, maneuver, and turn a fire apparatus in a variety of conditions; and operate all fixed systems and equipment on a fire apparatus. This course is based on the 2014 edition of NFPA 1002 Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. This course fulfills the requirements for a Class C Firefighter Endorsement.

Prerequisites:

Fire apparatus driving experience in a public way.  Option 1: signed verification from the Fire Chief.  Option 2: California Class B driver’s license, firefighter restricted.  Option 3: California Class A, B, or C driver’s license, firefighter endorsed firefighter 1 training recommended.

Standard

Complete all activities and formative test. Complete all summative tests with a minimum of 80% correct.

Course Details

We will provide you with the class textbook: IFSTA Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook, 3rd Ed.

The dress is casual but respectful and uniforms are okay as well.

 

Upon completion of the class, your certificate can be printed through the OSFM Acadis training portal. It is encouraged all students know their California State Training Identification number which can be found at https://apps.cce.csus.edu/sites/stateFIre/. If a student does not have a state training identification number one can be issued by calling the OSFM training office.

REFUND POLICY

To cancel your registration and receive a refund you need to contact ECT 30-calendar days prior to the first day of the class. A $15 refund processing fee will be deducted from the total refund amount ​for each class canceled.

However, if you cancel your registration within 30-calendar days of the first day of class you can carryover your registration towards any class we offer now or in the future.

You will not lose your class registration. Just contact us to cancel and/or to apply your cancelled registration towards another ECT class.
